Rat Strangers

The Rat Strangers are a trio of silent characters who Shadow Jazz encounter in the hallways during Ego Death. They greet Shadow in one way or another, staring ominously or raising a glass. The third Rat Stranger appears to be unaware of Shadow Jazz's approach until it is too late, being caught with his mask up and having a smoke break- quickly fumbling to become spooky again. He is heard making stereotypical ghost noises off camera as Shadow Jazz leaves, unaffected.

Appearance

The Rat Strangers appear as regular people, dressed formally with golden rat masks on.

Relationships

• Shadow Jazz - The Rat Strangers and Shadow Jazz never speak directly, but they cryptically greet him in the hallways. He seems slightly unsettled by them, but ultimately tries to ignore them.

Appearances

The Rat Strangers only appear in Ego Death, between the songs 'The Same Thing' and 'I Could Get Into It'.

Trivia

• Despite there being three Rat Strangers, two of them are played by Alex Cartlidge.
• The female Rat Stranger is played by Iona Gaskell, Archie Henderson's wife.
